katescotfourKATE SCOTT has been developing stoneware work over the past few years, investigating patterns inspired by the shoreline and the sea. She is also using texts associated with the sea, in particular the Anglo-Saxon poem "The Seafarer". The work is carved and inlaid. " ..it is my intention that the decoration should be part of the surface of each piece rather than a later addition". Kate trained originally in graphic art and spent many years as a designer in publishing, but gradually her love of ceramics took over and now she shows her work at Contemporary Ceramics, London and regularly at Ceramic Art London at the Royal College of Art.
